Breaktime Bible Study: We are Victorious

We Are Victorious

They spread a net for my feet— I was bowed down in distress. They dug a pit in my path— but they have fallen into it themselves. Psalm 57:6

The enemy may have a plan of attack and a well thought out strategy, but in the end, will fall. David was being pursued for his very life, and the enemy thought life would be better if David were done away with. David fell into distress but didn’t fall into the enemy's pit. David could see his way out was not the threats which came his way but looking through the eye of faith. The pit that they dug was to overcome him any way they could, but in the end, the enemy is the one who fell.

We all have some enemy that tries to overcome us. Fear tries to dig a pit of discouragement and anxiety for us to fall in. Depression tries to open up the grave and convince us there is no way out. Loneliness digs at our heart and tries to persuade us no one really cares. But in all the pits, the enemy attempts to sink us in −God has overcome.

Thankfully we are more than overcomers. It may be the right time to remember no matter what pit the enemy is trying to dig, Jesus has already overcome. There is nothing that can separate us from the presence of God. Maybe we have been attempting to find victory in the wrong source.

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39
