Breaktime Bible Study: The Greatest Cure

The Greatest Cure

He sends from heaven and saves me, rebuking those who hotly pursue me— God sends forth his love and his faithfulness. Psalm 57:3

David calls in the highest of all resources because nothing on earth is fit for his battle. He is expecting mercies from heaven, overcoming his circumstance.

David’s answer for mercy is shown to us in God’s love and faithfulness. This is no ordinary battle David is facing but one that led him to hide for his life in a cave.

We could be facing a similar battle; the cave could be our homes. We, like David, need help from heaven because there is nothing left here to see us through. Many are trying to cure the disease, but a cure from heaven would lead us further into a deeper relationship with God.

God desires to send forth his love and faithfulness, a much grander expectation in our time of the battle. The cure might look different because it is a cure for eternity. The vaccine may pull us through another season of the outbreak, but God’s love will pull us through eternity. David knew the disease was higher than a physical pursuit; it was a disease of the heart.

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. Romans 8:38
