Breaktime Bible Study: What can Man do to Me?

What can Man Do to Me?

In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? Psalm 56:4

David now uncovers even more of his reasons to trust God. He understood praise could calm his fears and the understanding that man is mere mortals. He knew his fear could be put to rest but only in a relationship, not in the situation or even a person.

But how do we exercise God’s presence daily? Living in God’s presence is something we practice, just like all relationships we have. We remain in God when things all around are sinking, for He is our source of strength when all else is falling. We hold tightly to His Word and live consistently in communion with God.

Some days will be easier than others, but remember, it takes constant practice. Living in God doesn’t mean I bring God to my space; it means we walk in God’s infinity. This is His world, and we are living in it. We learn and pay attention to God and stop trying to invite Him into the smallness of our space. God is greater than what we could imagine, and He is asking us to live in constant communion with Him. Will you join with God in His continuous presence? Otherwise, we may have settled with residing in man’s space and building a kingdom that won’t last.
