There’s some new faces at the Sports Page Grill in Pella, and they’re brining some changes that will give the restaurant a more local flavor. Julie Berns, new owner of Sports Page Grill, said they are making many changes to the menu. The biggest change will be where items are sourced; Berns said they’re focusing on locally-produced goods when they can – for example, Northcote Meats Inc. in Melcher-Dallas will provide the meats for the restaurant; dinner rolls and desserts from Jaarsma’s Bakery are another local feature. Berns took over the business July 1, 2017; Berns and her husband, Dustan, also own Classic Frozen Custard in Des Moines. Her husband currently runs the day-to-day operations of Classic Frozen Custard, while she focuses on the Sports Page.
