The Oskaloosa police department gave out over 200 warnings to citizens for parking violations during the recent winter storm, and they’d like to remind residents about parking regulations during winter weather. When there’s a snow emergency in Oskaloosa, street parking is prohibited within the city limits until the entire width of the roadway has been plowed or the snow emergency has been lifted. The Police department is reminding everyone this includes ALL city streets, not just snow routes. If you were one of the people who got a warning, be thankful – the next time around it will hit your wallet.

According to Vander Linden, instead of spending 99 percent of the budget, the state may spend a lower percentage of the estimated revenue due to the Revenue Estimating Conference consistently overestimating Iowa’s revenues in the past. Senator Rozenboom said Legislative committee chairs were instructed about three weeks ago to look at their budgets and see what they could cut back on.
