“Rise up, LORD, confront them, bring them down; with your sword rescue me from the wicked.” Psalm 17:13
David cried out to the Lord when he knew the enemy was trying to overtake him. He asked the Lord to confront them and bring them down with His sword. Jesus used the sword to fight off the enemy when he was attacked in the desert, and the Sword was the Word of God!
The answer for the fight against the attacks of the devil is the Word of God. It is being vulnerable before Jesus and admitting our need just as David did. He knew the higher power was found in the Lord. When the enemy is coming at us through pride, selfishness, fear, anger or any other attack what weapons do you use?
We have the Word of truth to hold up in the face of the enemy. We have great truth to hold on to when we are searching for the way out of our persecutions. One of the most significant truths is knowing Jesus is with us, and His strength is there. But all too often we run to other resources when our enemy is attacking. He will attack, not might or maybe, but he will and how will we respond?
Today in the workplace:
How will you respond?
