Would you like to learn how to create your own prairie garden? A new program is starting at the Refuge that will give you the information you need to do just that. From seed cleaning and planting to weed control and using a prairie garden for educational purposes, learn a new skill every month in this series. This series begins this month and continues once a month through July.
The first program will be held on Saturday, November 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The topic for November will be “Outdoor Learning Environments and Seed Cleaning”. Special guest, Annie Fangman, of Prairie Rivers of Iowa, will discuss utilizing your garden as an outdoor learning environment. (For more information, go to: www.prrcd.org/outdoor-learning-environments-iowa/) We will also learn to clean and identify native prairie seeds for successful planting. These programs are open to aspiring prairie gardeners of all ages and experience. Individuals and groups are welcome!
